Specialty Center Dancers Pose as Live Models

Specialty Center Dancers Pose as Live Models

On Thursday, Sept. 19, a sophomore specialty center art class had the opportunity to draw some senior specialty center dancers.

Dancers Jasmine Hatch and Courtney Palmore put themselves in different positions for the students. The art teacher, Mr. Harper, gave them a green light to use anything in the classroom for props.

Mr. Harper gave students intervals of time to sketch, including 30 seconds, 1 minute, 5 minutes, and then lastly 10 minutes. With that, the students were able to manage their time wisely on certain parts of the body. When the timer went off, pencils went down.

At the end students had many figure drawings of the dancers. This was a great opportunity to see how dance and art can combine to make beautiful artwork.
